The Lasik eye surgery procedure
Vision problems such as hyperopia, myopia, presbyopia, and astigmatism can all be treated effectively with vision correction treatments.
Lasik is a form of eye surgery which has gained immense popularity due to its benefits and minimal side effects.
Lasik eye surgery is also relatively pain-free, and involves the use of a state-of-the-art excimer laser.
Procedure
An anaesthetic is applied to the area to help to numb any pain during the procedure. The front of the cornea is partially cut, after which a micron thick flap is created. A laser beam is then used to re-shape the cornea.
After the treatment, the micron flap is placed back over the new corneal tissue. This immediately sticks to the underlying tissue.
Lasik eye surgery is a quick treatment and the recovery period is also speedy.
It is imperative that you follow the instructions of the doctor after Lasik eye surgery, and they should provide you with a list of after care instructions. If appropriate care is not taken, the healing process may take longer and you may experience complications- which could render the surgery ineffective.
