Custom LASIK surgery

Custom LASIK surgery is also known as wavefront or wavefront guided LASIK. It uses 3 dimensional measurements of how your eye processes images to guide the laser in reshaping the cornea. With this method, great results can be achieved, which cannot be possible using spectacles, lenses or even undergoing the usual LASIK surgery

Standard prescriptions for glasses, contacts, or traditional LASIK procedures will be able to modify eye diseases like myopia, hyperopia positively and astigmatism. But other problems need to be addressed by custom LASIK surgery. Although it is a more expensive procedure, more and more people are opting for this eye surgery as it yields much better results than the traditional LASIK surgery.

Some of the advantages with custom LASIK surgery are:

  • Greater chance of achieving 20/20 vision
  • Greater chance of achieving better than 20/20 vision
  • Reduced chance of losing best-corrected vision
  • Reduced chance of losing visual quality or contrast sensitivity
  • Reduced chance of night-vision disturbances and glare
Custom LASIK is also able to treat higher order aberrations unlike the traditional LASIK surgery making it a more effective, albeit an expensive option.
