How is laser eye treatment conducted?

Laser assisted in situ keratomileusis is normally and in short known as LASIK. This treatment is used to heal problems such as hyperopia, myopia and astigmatism. These treatments are executed by ophthalmologists and are a type of a refractive laser eye surgery.

With laser eye treatments, problems with your eyes and deficiencies in your vision can be all put behind you.

Surgeons all over use this method of LASIK laser eye treatment as it means the patient goes through less pain. The recovery period after the surgery is also quicker. This treatment cures short and long sight problems, so it can also act as an alternative to wearing glasses or lenses.

If a person suffering from an eye problem wishes to have a laser operation done, then he or she would have to completely stop using contact lenses at least six weeks prior to the surgery. The patient has to get his or her cornea checked before the procedure.

This surgery is taken to the next step only after giving anaesthesia drops in the eye of the patient. The person is wide awake during the surgery. A flap is formed from the corneal tissue to remodel the cornea under that flap. You then have to keep away from bright light for some days after the surgery.
