Details about LASIK eye surgery

LASIK is an abbreviation of Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis which helps in correcting the vision quickly.

Before the actual procedure begins, local anesthetic drops are used. The surgeon uses a large machine which is connected to a computer, a microscope and laser device.

With the help of the laser, the surgeon cuts a flap and then lifts it away to see the inner part of the cornea. After this, the cornea is reshaped.

Once the cornea is reshaped, the corneal flap is put back into position. In order to prevent any kind of infection, it is recommended to follow the doctors instructions carefully.

After the surgery is complete, it is suggested to rest for a couple of days and then get back to your normal routine.
