LASIK is one of the main laser eye treatments which help in correcting various vision problems with the help of lasers. These advanced lasers aid in the treatment of astigmatism, hyperopia and myopia. The process of LASIK surgery is performed by an ophthalmologist and he/she is aided by a computer system.
In this process, lasers are used to open the thin flap of the cornea and treat the cornea as per the problem. Once you have decided to undergo a LASIK surgery operation then you need to visit a doctor who will guide you according to the nature of your cornea. If you wear contact lenses then it is recommended to stop using them for at least 2 weeks before the surgery as it deforms the shape of the cornea.
The whole process of laser eye surgery takes only a few minutes and you do not have to worry as it painless and it guarantees positive results.
After LASIK eye treatment
After the laser surgery is completed, the doctor will give you some eye drops which contain antibiotics to protect your eyes from any kind of infections. Moreover, there are some agents present in the drops and these will prevent your eyes from getting swollen. Thus, you need to use these drops regularly as they will help you in achieving desired results quickly.
You also need to take some rest and take care that your eyes are not exposed to bright light. It is recommended to wear special goggles and avoid rubbing your eyes to speed up recovery.
