Laser eye surgery has given a new life to many people including many celebrities and public figures. Laser eye surgery is a painless procedure and can be undertaken by people who have problems like far sightedness, short sightedness and astigmatism. Although many other eye problems can be corrected with laser eye surgery these are the most common issues.
After laser eye surgery you will never need to use your glasses or contact lenses again. However, to enjoy the benefits of having perfect eyesight you must take good care of your eyes once the operation is completed.
Some ways of maintaining your eyes after undergoing a laser eye surgery are discussed below:
After the laser eye surgery, your eyes might tend to become dry. This can create irritation. You must therefore refrain from rubbing your eyes in such circumstances. Remember that your eyes are in the process of healing in the period following the surgery. If you rub your eyes in this period it might affect the healing process.
Drink a lot of water during this period as this will hydrate the body and stop your eyes from drying up. Using the eye drops and medication that has been given by your eye surgeon is also very important as the medication will help the eyes to recover quickly.
You should wear goggles during the day and prevent your eyes from bright light immediately after the operation. You should also refrain from any rigorous physical activity for a brief period of time after the operation, as this may hurt the eyes which will delay the recovery.
