Lasik eye surgery is gaining popularity nowadays. Lasik eye surgery is a surgical procedure for reducing a persons dependency on glasses and contact lenses. The term Lasik stands for laser-assisted in Situ Keratomileusis. It permanently changes the shape of the cornea and clear covering of the front eye. A laser device is used to cut a flap in the cornea. A hinge is left at one end of the Flap and then the Flap is folded back that reveals the stoma in the middle section of the cornea. Before having Lasik eye surgery there are a few tests that you have to undergo.
If you choose to have Lasik eye surgery then you need an initial or baseline evaluation by your eye doctor. If you wear contact lenses you have to stop wearing them before the baseline evaluation, instead you have to start wearing glasses.
To prevent infection in your eye you have to wait for around 2 weeks after the surgery. After getting eye surgery done you should avoid swimming and using hot tubs for a month. Lasik eye surgery has improved peoples visibility with the end result.
