Laser eye surgery is a highly effective process that can correct your vision.
The rehabilitation period of this process is not too long but proper precautions and care should be taken after the procedure. The surgeon will advise you on the steps you need to take in order to ensure a successful rehabilitation.
Take regular medication
Some people might experience slight pain after the procedure. The doctor will prescribe pain killers and other tablets to prevent infection, swelling and irritation of the eye. Do not under any circumstances rub the treated eye. Itchy feelings are a sign that the eye is healing.
You should let the surgeon know of any missed dosage so that they can take appropriate measures.
Avoid bright lights
Avoid the glare of bright sunlight without using protective glasses. The doctors will advise you when you can stop using them after the procedure. Another advantage of these glasses is that they can stop dust particles from entering the eye. Drink plenty of water and eat the right foods
Water hydrates the body and accelerates the healing process. You should also consume foods rich in vitamins and protein. Some surgeons might suggest a diet; you should follow this to ensure a healthy rehabilitation.
Visit the doctor on a regular basis during the rehabilitation process. They will check for any infection or inflammation in the eye and treat it accordingly.
