Many eye problems can be corrected with the use of Lasik eye surgery. Vision problems such as myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia, and astigmatism occur when the cornea gets defected. These kinds of problems take place when the retina of your eye is not sharp enough. If the focal length of the eye gets defected the images appear blurred. Lasik targets such defective tissues to correct refractive problems.

Precautions to take prior to Lasik surgery

Some safety precautions to think about before undergoing Lasik eye surgery.

You may have to take antibiotics for a short period of time in order to prevent infections. You will have to stop wearing contact lenses for a short while before the surgery. The list of medications and advice that the doctor gives should be followed thoroughly to avoid any side -effects.

Procedure

The doctor will lift up the thin layer of the cornea and use a laser to remove the defected layer of the cornea. At the end of the process, the flap that was lifted will be put back in place. As soon as the flap touches the surface of the cornea, it will start to re- stick to it. This entire process is relatively quick and pain- free, and recovery is also generally speedy.

Lasik eye surgery has helped those with vision problems to gain much clearer vision.
