Procedure of Lasik laser eye treatment

LASIK eye surgery is painless and the patient recovers in a short span after the surgery, hence this treatment is extensively used by surgeons for correcting vision problems. LASIK eye surgery helps to correct disorders like long sightedness and short sightedness and eliminates the use of glasses and contact lens.
LASIK eye treatment is carried out in several steps. They are as follows:
- Before the surgery the cornea of the eye has to be examined. The patients have to stop wearing hard contact lens at least six weeks prior to the laser operation.
- Anaesthesia drops are given to the patients eye before performing LASIK eye surgery. The patient remains awake during the operation. During surgery, a flap is created for the corneal tissue further to remodel the cornea under that flap. After this procedure gets over, the created flap is positioned to the proper place.
LASIK eye surgery has proved to be very useful for treating vision problems. Nowadays LASIK eye surgery is widely used and appreciated by people.
