Many people old and young have vision related ailments and issues. These problems may not be detected very easily as they develop gradually over a period of time.
In older people, one of the most common eye problems is a cataract. A cataract is a cloud that covers the lens of your eye. The lens focuses light on the retina that is the screen of the eye where the image is formed. Cataracts make the image foggy and a person suffers from cloudy vision.
Here are some symptoms of cataracts:
Foggy or cloudy vision Colours are not easy to detect Person starts seeing double images Night vision is greatly affected Highly sensitivity to glaring light Aura or rings are seen around lights
Cataracts are of different types. They can be age related or hereditary. They can occasionally be present in babies.
Ageing cataracts: These are mostly in older people. Their vision is hampered due to cloudiness of the eyes.
Congenital: This occurs in babies, often in both eyes.
Secondary: This type is present in people who already have health issues like diabetes.
