LASIK eye surgery is ideal for those people who are suffering from Myopia or Hyperopia and do not want to wear glasses. The recovery of LASIK eye surgery is relatively fast. A patient who has undergone LASIK eye surgery can resume their work within a couple of days due to the speedy recovery process.
LASIK eye surgery only takes a short period to recover due to the expertise of the surgeon and special nature of the surgical process. The LASIK eye surgery only lasts for 8 to 10 minutes. Laser technology is used during LASIK eye surgery. The tissue from the innermost part of the stroma is burned through with a laser. The tissues are not hurt in the usual sense of the term hence the healing period of this process is very short.
The recovery after LASIK eye surgery usually takes 48 hours hence patients are advised to take rest for couple of days. To prevent infection they have to wear a guard on the eye. Patients should avoid itching or rubbing of eyes during the healing period. There is no need to take special medication during the recovery period.
LASIK eye surgery is usually hassle-free, but there are some precautions to be taken. During the first few days after surgery, the patient has to avoid strenuous work. For a couple of days, the patient should avoid the use of makeup items and lotions. Swimming and whirlpool baths can only be resumed after a month.
