Posted in LASIK Surgery on March 11, 2009

The outcome of LASIK eye surgery over the past few years has made the operation so popular that many people suffering from eye problems want to undergo it. This eye surgery can be undergone to get fid of hyperopia, myopia or astigmatism. LASIK eye surgery is known to last only for a short while, after which a person can enjoy excellent vision. This treatment also eliminates the use of contact lenses and glasses.

Although many people would love to get rid of eye problems, there are certain criteria that make people suitable.

Above 18 years of age This is perhaps the first thing that an eye doctor will want to know about the person who wants to undergo eye surgery. This is because the eyes are still in a development stage when an individual is young, so the current eye complication may subside as the person gets older. Once the person is over 18 years of age, then the eye surgery can be performed. Expectant women Mothers-to-be are not eligible for LASIK eye surgery. This is because there are many changes which they undergo and this may lead to unintended results. To ensure that nothing of this sort happens, it is best to wait until after pregnancy.
