The benefits of LASIK compared to other corrective measures
Posted in LASIK Surgery on July 14, 2010
Many people prefer to use vision corrective measures like spectacles and contact lenses to aid their eyesight. These measures are not only temporary but can prove to be a hindrance in attaining proper vision. Laser eye surgery is permanent and can give better vision for a lifetime. In comparison to other vision corrective measures, Lasik is more beneficial. Some of the benefits are listed below:
Spectacles restrict your vision to a certain extent as they do not provide a flexibility of vision. With contact lenses, though they provide flexibility to your vision, they do come with their own problems like dry eyes and limited time of use. Once Lasik is performed on your eyes, you can bid farewell to issues like hypermetropia and myopia.
Spectacles use concave or convex glasses, depending on the vision problem, as a corrective measure. These glasses, when placed in front of the eyes, correct the problems faced by the cornea whereas in Lasik the shape of the cornea is regained using a laser beam. This gives you a lifelong corrected vision, while the use of spectacles and contact lenses do not eradicate the problem completely. The correction is only for a limited time period.
Laser eye surgery is a better option to choose as it is safe as well as providing a lifetime of comfort to you. It is the only corrective measure which completely eradicates your problem giving you definitive results.
