The procedures involved in laser eye surgery

March 23, 2009
Posted in Laser Eye Surgery — Written by Colin

Laser eye surgery has become popular throughout the world since it has a high success rate and its results are amazing. After undergoing laser eye surgery people enjoy perfect vision throughout their lives. Laser eye surgery is a one time investment which pays for itself over the rest of your life.

Laser eye surgery is very complex but the technology makes it very simple. During the surgery, a minimal amount of tissue is sculpted and the procedure is almost painless taking just a few minutes to be completed.

Firstly, the patient is diagnosed and checked if he is a suitable candidate for laser eye surgery. Once this is confirmed the date of the laser eye surgery is fixed. During the surgery the eyes are washed and the eye lids are bound so the patient does not blink. Then a laser beam which is ultra thin is used to fold the cornea and make the necessary correction in the tissues so the person can enjoy perfect vision.

Once the correction is done, the fold is replaced and the laser eye surgery is over. The whole procedure takes about 15 minutes. After the laser eye surgery you are asked to sleep as long as possible so the healing process can continue.

After you wake up you can now see the world as it is. So, go for it and enjoy a glasses and contact lens free vision for the rest of your life.
