Use of Intralase eye surgery
Posted in Laser Eye Surgery on December 19, 2009
The latest development in LASIK laser eye surgery is the IntraLase(r) technique. IntraLase(r) are the worldwide leaders in this technology. The normal LASIK treatment uses a mechanical device which uses a blade in the process. This device is called microkeratome and it is used to produce the corneal flap.
The use of the IntraLase(r) technique has eliminated the need for blades. This process produces a much thinner flap than the conventional LASIK treatment and the results are beneficial for patients.
IntraLase(r) has made many advances since it was introduced in the UK in 1998. The major benefit of using the IntraLase(r) technique is that now vision impairment can be corrected without using blades. This has further eliminated the chances of distortions and other complications. IntraLase(r) is helpful in achieving 20:20 vision. Patients with both short sightedness and long sightedness have benefited from the IntraLase(r) technique. A major benefit of IntraLase(r) is that it is much more accurate than the use of a blade. LASIK treatments have proven to be the safest and fastest way to treat eye problems.
