Vision correction through application of advanced technology

Posted in Laser Eye Surgery on September 6, 2008

Laser eye treatment or Lasik Eye Surgery is adopted by the majority of the doctors owing to its safety and accuracy.

Laser Vision Correction assures safety and accuracy, and also has little or absolutely no after-effects. However, it is necessary to understand who is eligible for the Laser Eye Surgery and also to know the right time for such a procedure. For instance, pregnant or nursing women who want to undergo LASIK surgery will have to wait for at least two menstrual cycles after nursing has been discontinued as hormones may change the stability of their prescription.

While most healthy individuals are generally considered good candidates for the eye surgery, there might be some who will not be able to meet or fulfil the generally required medical criteria so as to ensure a successful, risk-free laser vision procedure.

Of course, a section of patients that were not deemed the right candidates for eye surgeries with a blade can now undergo vision correction procedures thanks to todays advanced technology.

Medical science is constantly evolving, technology is advancing further and existing techniques are getting refined as is evident in the near perfection achieved in Lasik eye surgery.
