While considering Lasik eye surgery, you need to know how long it would take to return to your normal daily activities. Most of the people can get back to their normal life within a couple of days as the recovery from laser eye surgery is quite rapid.
You should completely avoid any kind of activity that might involve touching, poking or rubbing the eyes immediately after a Lasik eye surgery. The patient should keep his or her eyes shut and rest for a few hours after the Lasik eye surgery.
The patient can get back to his or her daily routine activities after a few hours have passed. However, rubbing the eyes should be avoided for a few days. Lubricating eye drops should be used in case of dryness or itchiness. It helps to sooth the eyes and helps to prevent the irritation. Usually, these eye drops are provided by the Lasik eye surgery centre. It is recommended to wear an eye mask at night to protect your eyes from any unintentional bumps like rubbing or scraping.
Some surgeons will prescribe antibiotics as a precaution against occurrence of infections. However, the chances of infections are very little.
