Corneal Relaxing Incisions
Corneal Relaxing Incisions (CRI) are sometimes used to prepare the eye for laser eye treatment. If you have a high level of astigmatism, you would have Corneal Relaxing Incisions so that laser eye treatment is then possible at a later date.
The treatment involves making a pair of fine microscopic incisions on the cornea. These incisions are created with an IntraLase® laser, to permanently flatten the steepest part of the cornea.
