Mr Karthikappallil is a specialist eye surgeon who qualified as a doctor more than 23 years ago. He was granted a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1992. He is also a fully accredited laser eye surgeon holding the "Certification in Refractive Surgery" qualification from the prestigious Royal College of Ophthalmologists after under-going strict assessment in surgical skills and patient management. He has immense experience and over the last 9 years has performed more than 12,000 laser eye surgery treatments.

Mr Karthikappallil had a strong background within the NHS before specialising in laser eye surgery. He held senior positions in respected Royal Oldham Hospital, the West Cumberland Hospital and the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Bournemouth. In his pursuit of excellence, his training has included the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal Manchester Eye Hospital.

Mr Karthikappallil ensures other surgeons gain the benefit of his immense experience and skill. His work has been published in the respected official Journal of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists "Eye" and he has presented to his fellow surgeons at major congresses in the UK, Europe and USA. He has also presented to the esteemed Royal College of Physicians in London and is a past Council Member of the British Society for Refractive Surgery. Mr Karhtikappallil's work has immensely benefitted laser patients.

He has trained numerous surgeons in the practice of refractive surgery over the years and has a well deserved unsurpassed reputation for excellence and patient care.

There are just 54 surgeons in the UK and Ireland who have attained the Royal College Certification in laser eye surgery. Mr Karthikappallil is justifiably proud to be one of them.
