Keratoconus

Treatment for Keratoconus

Keratoconus is an eye disorder that causes the shape of the cornea to change from a gradual curve to more cone-like. It causes a blurring of vision at all distances and is often most noticeable at night.

The condition is degenerative, meaning the effects will worsen over time. Using a procedure called Corneal Collagen Crosslinking, Ultralase are able to halt the effects of Keratoconus.

The treatment uses ultra-violet light to strengthen the cornea and prevent the condition worsening, meaning that complex surgery can be avoided in later life.
