Dr Harilaos Brilakis MD MPH
Dr Brilakis studied Medicine at the University of Athens. He trained in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University and also went through sub-specialty fellowship training in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. He is on the specialist register of the GMC as an ophthalmic surgeon and he is also board-certified in the United States, as well as in Greece. He has been involved with refractive surgery since 2000. Dr Brilakis is currently performing laser eye surgery treatments with Ultralase, as well as at his private practice in Athens, Greece.
Dr Brilakis has written several articles in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in Cornea and Refractive Surgery textbooks. He has presented numerous scientific papers on refractive and anterior segment topics at international meetings. He is a member of several professional organisations, including the Cornea Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr Brilakis has performed over 5,300 laser eye surgery procedures, over 4,000 for Ultralase, since joining in 2004.
