Mr Vinod Gupta
Mr Gupta is a specialist eye surgeon and has now been a qualified doctor for more than 35 years. He was awarded a Fellowship of the prestigious Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 1989. Mr Gupta is a fully accredited laser eye surgeon holding the "Certification in Refractive Surgery" qualification from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists after under-going strict assessment in surgical skills and patient management.
Mr Gupta had a strong background within the NHS prior to specialising in laser eye treatment. He has practiced in a number of respected NHS hospitals in the UK including holding a senior position at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust (formally the Royal Eye Hospital) and the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Mr Gupta also had the unique opportunity to gain specialist knowledge and an impeccable reputation as Head of Ophthalmology at the Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Mr Gupta is now in his 12th year of practice at Ultralase having joined in July 1998. Since then he has become one of the most experienced laser eye surgeons in the UK. The respect afforded to Mr Gupta is clear - he has now treated over 70 Ultralase colleagues and over 300 relatives and friends of Ultralase colleagues.
There are just 54 surgeons in the UK and Ireland who have attained the Royal College Certification in laser eye surgery. Mr Gupta is proud to be one of them. Mr Gupta is one of the most experienced surgeons in the UK and has performed more than 38,000 laser eye procedures.
