Mr Balasubramaniam Ilango FRCSEd, MRCOphth, DO
Mr Ilango currently works at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, with specialist interest in cornea and external diseases. He completed the higher specialist training programme from the West Midlands region and is a Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Between 1997 and 2000 he was Director of the Primary Eye Care Unit at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital; prior to that he held a number of positions in ophthalmology at hospitals in Wigan and Swansea. Mr Ilango developed a sub-specialty interest in the cornea and refractive surgery, and trained at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He has performed more than 5,500 laser eye surgery procedures and published numerous research papers. Mr Ilango joined Ultralase in 2005.
