Mr Sat Jalpota
Mr Jalpota is a specialist eye surgeon and has now been a qualified doctor for more than 22 years. He was awarded a Fellowship of the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons in 1983. He is also a fully accredited laser eye surgeon holding the "Certification in Refractive Surgery" qualification from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists after under-going strict assessment in surgical skills and patient management. He also holds a Specialist Certification in laser eye surgery from the University of Ulster.
He has now been a specialist in laser eye surgery for 9 years and has performed over 5,000 laser eye surgery procedures.
Mr Jalpota has a strong background within the NHS and currently practices as an Associate Specialist in Ophthalmology at the respected Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne, a leading hospital that has been serving the North-East for more than 250 years. Mr Jalpota is involved in many aspects of specialist eye care and has performed over 8,000 eye surgery procedures in his career and is responsible for the training of other doctors. In his pursuit of excellence, his training has included Moorfields Eye Hospital the oldest and one of the largest centres for ophthalmic treatment, teaching and research in the world.
There are just 54 surgeons in the UK and Ireland who have attained the Royal College Certification in laser eye surgery. Mr Jalpota, a North East based specialist eye surgeon is justifiably proud to be one of them.
