Mr Mohammed Shabbar Kazmi
Mr Kazmi is a specialist eye surgeon and has been a qualified doctor for more than 23 years. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1994. He is also a fully accredited laser eye surgeon holding the "Certification in Refractive Surgery" qualification from the prestigious Royal College of Ophthalmologists after under-going strict assessment in surgical skills and patient management. He has immense experience and over the last 10 years has performed more than 10,000 laser eye surgery treatments.
Mr Kazmi had a strong background within the NHS prior to specialising in laser eye treatment. He has held senior positions in a number of respected NHS hospitals in the UK including Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, Stirling Royal Infirmary and Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Mr Kazmi also had the unique opportunity to gain specialist knowledge in ophthalmic procedures in the Almana Group of Hospitals in Saudi Arabia, the biggest and most prestigious group in Eastern Province. Additionally, he completed a Fellowship with the award winning Professor Paillikaris, widely respected as one of the most influential doctors in the world in the field of laser eye surgery.
In addition to laser refractive surgery he also has a special interest in cataract surgery having performed more than 5,000 in his career to date. Mr Kazmi ensures regular attendance at the most authoritative scientific congresses in both Europe and the USA.
There are just 54 surgeons in the UK and Ireland who have attained the Royal College Certification in laser eye surgery. Mr Kazmi is justifiably proud to be one of them.
