Mr Gerard Kervick
Mr Kervick is a specialist eye surgeon and has now been a qualified doctor for more than 28 years. He was awarded a Fellowship of the prestigious Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 1985. Mr Kervick is a fully qualified laser and refractive eye surgeon. In 1990 he completed a Fellowship in Refractive Eye Surgery at the Bascom Palmer Institute, part of the University of Miami which recently ranked best Eye Hospital in America in a survey of 140,000 doctors.
Mr Kervick, correctly described as "one of the UK's most respected Consultant Ophthalmologists" by the Irish News, trained in Belfast and became an NHS Consultant in 1991. He has trained numerous surgeons in the practice of refractive surgery over the years and has a well deserved unsurpassed reputation for excellence and patient care. As Director of Allclear, the first clinic to offer laser eye treatment in Northern Ireland, Mr Kervick relentlessly pursued correct standards for surgeons performing laser surgery. He has performed more than 15,000 laser procedures in his illustrious career. He has also presented to eye surgeons at the Irish College of Ophthalmologists, the recognised body responsible for ophthalmic training and education in the Republic of Ireland.
In addition to laser refractive surgery he also has a special interest in cataract surgery having performed more than 18,000 such procedures in his career to date.
As one of the first surgeons in the UK to perform laser eye treatment in 1992, he has considerable clinical and investigational experience with laser eye surgery. He is also currently a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the prestigious Mater Hospital, Belfast as well as being Surgeon and Director of Ultralase Ireland.
