Eye surgery treatment choices

Everyone's vision correction treatment starts with a FREE eye surgery consultation»

At the consultation, a vision correction specialist will carefully check your eyes and take many detailed measurements. They will then explain your options for eye treatment and the advantages of each one.

You can ask all the questions you like and together they will help you to choose a vision correction treatment that is right for you. You can learn more about treatments such as LASEK and LASIK laser eye surgery, as well as non laser eye treatments, but you will only find out your personal eye treatment options at your FREE eye surgery consultation.

Laser or non laser?

Laser eye surgery

Laser eye surgery involves the precise reshaping of the cornea, the transparent window that covers the coloured part of the eye. For eye treatment to be permanent, it must take place beneath the thin, protective outer layer. This layer is gently moved aside in order to let the laser do its work.

There are two fundamental types of laser eye surgery: LASIK and LASEK. They differ only in the way the eye is prepared for treatment. The actual re-shaping process is exactly the same in both cases.

All Ultralase LASIK laser eye surgery treatments now use IntraLase® to provide safe and accurate vision correction.

Our latest laser eye treatment, Ultra Elite has been independently verified to show that 99% of people achieved 20:20 vision. This was confirmed by a study of binocular vision on all Ultra Elite treatment results, excluding mono vision and partial treatments, between 13th July and 3rd November 2009.

Some people may only be found suitable for either LASEK or LASIK laser eye surgery, whereas some people may be suitable for both, in which case you could choose which one you prefer. The only way to find out for sure which you are suitable for is to have a FREE laser eye surgery consultation, where your personal advisor will discuss your options.

Non laser eye surgery

If you have a high prescription, age related sight loss or have another eye condition, you may be more suited to non laser eye surgery. Whether you have been found unsuitable for laser eye surgery in the past, have a strong prescription or have recently found yourself needing reading glasses, it's likely we'll have a vision correction treatment that could help.

Your FREE eye surgery consultation is the only way to find out for sure which type of treatment you are suitable for, and the process is the same. Click here to book online now

With our wide range of eye treatments, we can typically find a vision correction solution for nine out of ten people.
