Understanding your vision
Use our suitability checker below to see if you could be suitable for laser eye surgery
Short-sight
The most common vision problem is short-sightedness, which can be treated with laser eye surgery. This is where you can clearly see close-up objects such as a wrist watch, however, distant objects are blurred and out of focus. This may be caused by some astigmatism as well.
Are you short-sighted? You may be eligible for a laser eye surgery treatment.
Long-sight
Long-sight is the opposite of short-sight - distant objects like motorway signs are very clear, but nearby objects can be blurred and it's difficult to focus on close-up work for any time. This may also be caused by some astigmatism. Are you long-sighted? You may be eligible for a laser eye surgery treatment.
Astigmatism
Astigmatism is an optical irregularity where the lens is unable to focus a sharp image onto the back of the eye (the retina). This happens when the angles of the lens' curved surfaces aren't balanced enough to correctly produce a focused image. This vision problem is often combined with short or long-sight.
Do you have astigmatism? A laser eye surgery treatment. may be able to help you.
Presbyopia (Reading glasses)
Presbyopia is an age-related condition which develops in most people after the age of 40. It is assumed that this happens as a result of the eye's lens becoming less flexible and so less able to bend the light as much as required. Put simply, as you get older the eyes struggle to focus on close-up work - including reading.
You could aid this issue with Ultra-CK eye surgery treatments.
Have a high prescription?
Even those with the highest prescriptions may be suitable for vision correction. We offer an option called intra-ocular lens (IOL) treatment, which may be the better choice for you.
