Ultralase prides itself on publishing up-to-date information to help its patients choose the right treatment for them. Data is collected before, during and after treatment; periodically, we invite independent auditors to verify our results. That way, you can be certain that the information we provide is honest and accurate.
Separately, we are constantly monitoring and evaluating our results. As part of that process, we study every single procedure by every single surgeon. In a single year, we will collect more than one million blocks of data, which are then analysed to confirm we perform to our stringent standards. Ultralase is the only practitioner to conduct such a survey. In fact, we pride ourselves that, as a matter of routine, all our surgeons work exclusively for Ultralase.
The tables below show the results of our wavefront treatments for short-sight, long-sight and astigmatism, where nearly 99% of all patients can expect to achieve 6/12 vision or better without glasses or contact lenses (that's the equivalent of driving test standard of vision). Furthermore, four in every five patients will reach or even exceed 6/6 - better known as 20/20 vision. When you add to that the improvement in overall quality of vision, it's no surprise that over 80% of patients are now choosing wavefront treatment from Ultralase, with the vast majority of LASIK treatments with both wavefront and Intralase®.

These results were measured at six months after treatment or when the aftercare programme ended, whichever was longer.
Snellen acuity of 6/12 (size-12 letters on the eye-test chart when viewed from 6 metres) is a close equivalent to the UK minimum driving test standard of vision.
Results were analysed from 1,118 procedures performed by our current team of surgeons.
