Dr Seethappa Madhusudhan


Dr Madhu was born and educated in Bangalore, India, where he gained his medical education at Bangalore Medical College, before graduating in 1988.

In 1989, he joined the Minto Regional Institute of Ophthalmology for his postgraduate degree, gaining experience in cataracts, squints, corneal transplants, retinal detachments and glaucoma surgeries.

After successfully completing his postgraduate degree in Ophthalmology from Bangalore University in 1993, Dr Madhu moved to Chabbra Eye Clinic in New Dehli in a registrar position, relocating to the UK in the same year to add to his experience.
Here, Dr Madhu proceeded to work within the NHS as a registrar at two London hospitals; Whipps Cross Hospital and King's College Hospital, then passing the primary FRCS exam from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, before passing the final FRCS exams at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Between 1997 and 1998, he travelled to the USA and successfully passed two American examinations as a Doctor of Medicine, moved on to work at a Clinical Fellow in neuro-ophthalmology at Michigan State University.

In 2009, Dr Madhu successfully received certification in Laser Refractive Surgery from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

Dr Madhu's interest lies in treating high and mixed astigmatism prescriptions. He joined the Group in 2000.
